[SOLVED] high cpu consumption system interrupts

Hi again ... just looked at your latest performance files.

Antivirus/Antimalware/Firewall
All the evidence points to overlapping programs here. Both the logs from the SysNative information app, and the logs you just created with Performance Monitor, show that full-time modules for ESET Smart Security, MalwareBytes AntiMalware, and Windows Defender are all loaded in and running. It might be that both an ESET firewall and the Windows Firewall are running as well. Of course, only one of each can run full time.

1) Make sure ESET's firewall is running
Check to see if your version of ESET has a firewall included (most of the versions I saw on their website do...), and then check in the ESET program interface (open ESET and have a look at it's main screen) -- and see if it shows its firewall as "On" or "Running".

2) Turn the Windows Firewall off
If the ESET firewall is running: turn the Windows Firewall off.
[Right-click Windows Start > select Control Panel > make sure the Large Icons view is selected > select Windows Firewall > select Turn Windows Firewall on or off > select Turn Windows Firewall off ... for BOTH Private and Public networks (there are two sections). NOTE: only do this if you are sure that ESET has a firewall that is running.

3) Uninstall Malwarebytes
It is running two full-time modules, whether you meant to have them on or not: mbam.exe and mbamservice.exe. These were taking up considerable system resources, as shown in your report. [The two highest users were ESET and MalwareBytes, Windows Defender got an "honorable mention" :) ] ....... I think it's best to just uninstall it for now: you can always try again with the free on-demand only version later ... (if you want to: it is a bit tricky to install ONLY the free on-demand version, because the trial offer business tends to keep popping up.... you usually have to opt-out of the free trial at least twice... )

4) Make sure that Windows Defender's real-time protection is turned off

Make sure that Windows Defender is turned off. If you have a full time antivirus and firewall, Windows Defender should not be running.
[Right-click Windows Start > select Control Panel > make sure the Large Icons view is selected > select Windows Defender > [at this point, if Windows Defender is turned off, you should see a message "this app has been turned off and is not monitoring your computer" ... if you don't see that message, Defender is likely ON] .... [To double-check if it's on, Click on Windows Start > Settings > System > Windows Defender (in the list on the left-hand side: if you don't see it, Defender is already turned off]

5) If Windows Defender's real-time protection is on, use a registry change to permanently disable it
Luckily, tenforums has a regfile you can download (once downloaded, you double-click the file and select merge)
The regfile is way way down, nearly at the end, of the following guide:

Try these changes, and see if the system interrupts behave themselves better. Restart your computer after all the changes have been made.

Ok So I did 1 to 5 and if you want me to give new report to make sure these changes took place.
I am not sure of one thing, when I log in to my computer I get this question asked Choose your firewall. Apparently, ESET is taking care of the firewall portion but it seems there's conflict.
So I will try to upload new report. BTW the system interrupts not showing signs anymore, although sleep mode still not working.
 
Sounds like we're making progress.

Regarding the firewalls, it's easy enough to check that the Windows Firewall is still off. You can visit that same location in Control Panel, and verify that it shows as "Off". I looked over at ESET regarding your ESET "Choose your firewall" message: it might be a message asking you to choose what settings the firewall is to use. See if your version works similarly to the 4 series, which has a guide to ESET firewall settings (the guide is from November 2015, so it's reasonably recent) ESET Smart Security Personal firewall behavior and user interaction (4.x)—ESET Knowledgebase

For the sleep mode settings, you can take a look in two of the places these are set, in Windows 10 "Settings", and in Control Panel. You can start navigating from "Settings", and use a link on that screen to get to Control Panel's "Power Options"....
1) Click the Windows Start Menu icon
2) Select Settings
3) Select System
4) Select Power & Sleep
5) Select your screen and system sleep setting times for both "plugged in" and "on battery power'
6) Click the blue link "Additional power settings" (this will take you to Control Panel's "Power Options")
7) You'll notice that there are a lot of the same settings in Control Panel's Power Options, but the controls are much more detailed and specific. The power options can be selected on a device by device basis.

If you can find both memory and a 120 GB SSD, and keep the total cost under $60, that might give your system a new lease on life for another year or two. The nice thing about the SSD is that it can migrate to a newer system in a few years (while the memory will likely just drift off into obsolescence twilight)...

That's the news for now....
 
Hi fadinzr -- I'll make sure to have a look at your WPA file later tonight (busy with a few repairs here in my office at the moment)... The sleep issue seems like something we can fix. Glad that the interrupts have calmed down nicely.
 
I am waiting, yes good thing the interrupt is down and now I am looking for this annoying sleep issue. I cannot even imagine what is the cause.
 
Sorry for the delay ... a few clients had "digital emergencies" last night/this morning ... ("remote repairs" is becoming my middle name) ... I'm hoping for a chance to check your file this evening ...

Finally had some time to view the latest files - looks very good for the latencies: your last Performance Analyzer file looked really good.

For the sleep issue, of course have a look in the two places I mentioned a few posts ago: there are the simplified settings in Start > Settings > System > Power & Sleep, and there are many more, very detailed, settings - in Control Panel's "Power Options". Since some sleep states can be enabled/disabled in a motherboard's BIOS (or UEFI) ... you might have a look in there, and make sure that sleep states are set to "enabled" or "allowed" (the language can vary).

A few weeks ago, I seem to remember an issue with some computers sleep problems being related to a driver ... I'll see if I can find those articles again....

For the sleep issue, I believe the driver issue I was remembering regarding sleep mode problems was for graphics cards. There's a nice article that covers that angle, as well as the Power Options in Control Panel. The article doesn't mention the power settings in the Windows 10 Settings app, but you can check in on those, too. Here's the article: How to Fix Windows 1 Sleep Mode Not Working

Thanks for keeping up with this issue.

I will try your suggested solutions, although I am sure I have all devices updated as well as all sleep settings set to correct values.
I'll check in the BIOS menu and let you know.
 
So happy the problem is solved, you mentioned so settings could be related to this issue. I changed from S1 to S3 and the problem is solved.
There still some settings under power management I wanted you to tell me what should they be set to.
 
Glad that sleep is working again. Let me know any power setting questions that remain ....
