How to extract the Details tab information for File Properties

All is well and usasma is happy! :0)

It looks like it's gotten everything - and it only took 2+ hours to run (the previous version took 5+ hours!)
Here's the link to the start of the project (it's a 3 mb webpage, so it's gonna be slow!): http://www.carrona.org/dvrcomp.html
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gonna be a lot nicer once I work my "mojo" on it.

I envision a table comparing drivers and versions (and maybe dates) between each OS
Either one table, or a table separated between 32 and 64 bit

Then comparison tables for each driver that contains all info from each version - sort of like the individual driver pages in the DRT, but with a lot more info, and a spreadsheet for comparison purposes.

Also wondering how to make sortable columns show up in the webpage -that'd be nice for those doing research.

Certainly, John, but that ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ is what it's all about!! :lol:

Glad to hear it & see it in print!

I strongly agree! Since the program was designed with you in mind, it makes me happy to know that it worked well for you.

Glad to see the program provided the info you were looking for and in a format that was fairly easy to extract that info.

Well, here's the start of the spreadsheet from this program: http://www.carrona.org/dvrcomp.html
It lists drivers found in the Windows\System32\drivers folder from XP to Win8
I concentrated on Windows drivers - but left a lot of others in because of the renaming/reowning that I've seen done to Windows drivers over time.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions and hard work!

Glad I could help! :-}

Sorry for any issues with the interface. I realized yesterday that I have a lot to learn about form applications with DPI settings. My Sony system runs at 125% appearance due to the 1920 x 1080 resolution. Found out the blue screen apps were not working well at 125%, so I investigated further to find out it was due to the interfaces not being aware of the DPI settings and pixel per inch changes. I just released a new version today to fix those problems.

An updated version for your continued use. :-}

I fixed the interface to scale with display settings, and I also fixed it so if you exit the progress bar portion of the application, it will end the application once Powershell finishes with the directory it is scanning. It may take a few minutes for it to end for some directories, though.

Good work on this writhziden, I haven't tested the majority of the versions, but the fact that you show the commitment towards even these sideprojects is respectable. It's refreshing to see members like you on forums :) You've earned my respect.

:thumbsup2:

Appreciate the kind words.

I wouldn't recommend a test of the version that was just up. I had to update it due to a very minor bug with the checkedListBox not iterating properly. All fixed now.

No problem. The latest version, version 0.9.3.2 added to my previous post, should work smoothly now. I believe I got all the bugs out in the version I uploaded last night. :-}

Let me know if anything comes up.

Note for Win11 - you can't run the .exe from within the zipped archive.
Extract it to the desktop! :0)

Works great then! I'm fixing to compile the new dvrcomp.html page in the next couple of days.
Thanks again Mike!
