Rich (BB code):

Apologies, it should be the following:

Rich (BB code):
reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\ComponentDetect\amd64_microsoft-windows-servicingstack_31bf3856ad364e35_0.0.0.0_none_8957f279c7d227d0" /s

error: the system was unable to find the specified registry key or value

I believe this is because I'm booting from a windows installation usb

It will be because it's missing from your registry. Could you please try the following:

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Hi, I cant because I cant boot into windows. Windows boot gets stuck and safemode only gives me a black screen with arrow and nothing else comes up.
I'm using a downloaded win 10 on usb to and boot repair doesn't work either.

I thought you were booting into Hiren's and accessing their recovery environment?

Okay, let's try a different approach, could you please run the following command in command prompt and then provide the output in your next post:

Rich (BB code):
dir %systemroot%\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-servicingstack_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.14393.2272_none_7f1843c421e0830a

Thank you for all your help.

I came to a point and ran out of time, I have to reinstall windows.

Thank you for trying,
Techmann

Okay, that's unfortunate, hopefully after the clean install you'll no longer have any problems going forward.

Yes after reinstall everything is working, not it will take a few days to configure it back to normal.

Thank you for all your help!!!!

If you install the latest cumulative update and SSU then you should be able to get the latest updates fairly quickly. I would strongly recommend that you create a backup image too once you have everything configured as you want to.
