Infected with Zero Access Trojan

Hi, Will question will it help me if I restore my computer back to factory settings? This is my personal computer that I do use for business and it's really putting me in a bind with the problems.

Hi truth,

So sorry about the delay, thanks for bumping the thread.

Yes, restoring the computer back to factory settings should resolve any problems - you would have to make sure you've backed up any important data and would also need to reinstall any programs you require onto the computer. If you're willing, there are still a couple of fixes we can try. The instructions below will run a Microsoft Fix-It, this should resolve any Windows Installer error messages you're experiencing.

Download the Fixit program from here:
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9779673&entrypointid=MATSKB

Right click and select Run as Administrator. Follow any prompts that appear onscreen.

After running the tool, restart your computer and please describe the current state of your system. How is it behaving, what are the remaining issues etc.

Hi, Will I tried it didn't work so I'm going to do the restore. All important files are backed up....

Hi truth,

I hope all goes well with the restore. Often a restore is the best way of ensuring the system is completely clean and trustworthy, especially with advanced infections. Apologies once again for the delay, I should have replied much sooner but lost track of the thread.

Let us know if you have any further issues.
