My PC randomly restarts when I'm playing games

I have clicked the 'Load Setup Defaults' in the BIOS, so I think that that area is covered.

Good work, keep me updated.

Even if I was to get an RMA sorted out, wouldn't that require me to send my current CPU away therefore leaving me without a computer for a while?

Correct.

I am also considering buying a new CPU altogether but I wouldn't want to spend a good chunk of money just to find out that the CPU wasn't the problem.

Understandable, we won't have to go there until we're absolutely sure.

Patrick

Ok, so I am going to start purchasing new parts for my computer in an attempt to solve this problem. Since you believe that the CPU is the most probable culprit, I will start with replacing that first. However, before I start buying new parts, I wanted to query if the problem could stem from my hard drive in any way that wasn't detected by SeaTools - just want to be completely sure.
Anyway, I don't have a great knowledge on which CPU is best for its price etc. so could you give me a general idea on which of the following CPU's is best.
[h=1]
Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K
[/h][h=1]Intel Core i5 4670K
[/h][h=1]Intel 3rd Generation Core i7-3770K CPU
[/h][h=1]Intel Core i7 4770K

(If there are better ones that you recommend, my budget is around the £200 mark but if its worth it I'll pay a bit more)

Thanks, again.

I have seen this type of behavior many times, can you inspect the motherboard and video card for bad capacitors? Capacitors are the cylindrical components and they should have a clean, flat top. If they are bulging/bowed or leaking brown goo, they will need to be replaced or the motherboard replaced. Sometimes the blow the rubber seal out the bottom as well, but this is usually accompanied by a slight rounded top.

If you find any, let me know and I will provide replacement info if you are up for a repair of that nature.

You can also check for bad caps internal to the power supply, but if you already replaced it, that being the cause is unlikely.

OK, so I've had a look at my motherboard and I only found one capacitor that looked unusual - image below. If this is a damaged capacitor, what are my next steps?

Thanks

So is the rubber bulging out the bottom? It looks ok from the pic...is your thought that it is bed due to the angle? The angle is ok as long as it isn't bulging out the bottom.

Do you have a soldering iron?
