Need help updating from Windows 8.1 -> 10

Install that update.

Next, right-click the Start button and select Command Prompt (administrator).
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press enter afterwards.
Code: 
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Are you trying to upgrade from a USB drive ?
 
Yeah. Should I not? I did it so I don’t have to download the file every time I attempt to upgrade
 
Remove the USB stick.
Disable Windows Update:
  • Go to Control Panel - Windows Update - Change settings.
  • Select Never check for updates (not recommended).
  • Click OK.

Insert the USB stick and try the upgrade again.
 
You are running Windows 8.1 Pro. Are you upgrading to Windows 10 Pro also or another version of Windows 10 ?
 
Just another version of W10.

I don't see a Windows 10 Pro version when I click the dropdown in the Mediacreationtool

Download a fresh of the MediaCreationTool here: Download Windows 10
Open the link "Using the tool to create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) to install Windows 10 on a different PC (click to show more or less information)".
Follow the instructions given at "Using the tool to create installation media:"
 
Same error. Any other ideas? If not, I will just do a fresh install. Thanks much.
