[SOLVED] Need help with failed update (KB4512506 - 2019-08 Security Rollup) for Win7

Progress! Download went to 100%, Restore Point created, Indicated that install succeeded, Restart, Four reboots!

Logs uploaded to dropbox in case there is more to do.

Not that I noticed. There were several reboots with usual "applying updates don't turn off machine". IIRC one went to 30% then rebooted. The next time it went to 100% and eventually to login screen. ( Note that I stopped the procmon logging before the first restart ).

Also Update history is showing KB4512506 as successfull.
 
It would appear yes. The update is no longer on the update list and history says success.
Is there something in the logs that indicates failure to configure the updates?
 
Nope. All looks well. Can you please check Windows Update history just to confirm:

  • Click on Start > Control panel > Windows Update
  • Click on the "View update history" link
 
Update history is showing Successful. Also it shows up in the list under "Installed Updates"
 
Really appreciate the help. Don't have thanks enough!
A final question if I may: Is there something/anything I can/should be doing to prevent corruption in the future or is it a case of "..sometimes things glitch"?
 
As a retired software developer I understand that gremlins exist :alien:.
I see your location is in Croatia. If its really 4am you should take the day off!
