[SOLVED] No audio sound installed

Just one problem now. I am going to fo over my allowance for downloading as I am nearly at my limit as I've been downloading a lot of things this month so far. It seems quite a large file as the downloading time was 35 - 40 minutes. I have about 2GB allowance left till the end of the month or I will be charged for the extra.
Regards
Kerry

Hi Kerry,

Possible solution. I too have a download limit. When ever I need to download a large file I go to the local library to download the file. Does your local library provide free wifi without a download limit?

Just a thought.

Donna :)

Not sure Donna. I know they offer free wifi, as I used it before when I only had a desktop and the desktop was being repaired. My limit starts on the 1st february. Not sure what size this file would be downloading, like I saud I only have about 2 - 2 1/2GB left till the end of the month. If the library does not let me do it, as I could transfer to a flash drive, I would have to wait till the 1st of february to download.

Are you allowed to take your laptop to the library and connect it to their wifi or do you have to use their computers provided for public use?

There are computers there, which I used before, not sure if i can take my laptop, haven't been there for a while.

If you are able to take your laptop to the library and connect to their wifi, you could download the file directly to the desktop of the laptop. Wouldn't hurt to check into that as an option.

I will pop in and ask the question. I will take a look on the internet and see what i can find out at the local library.

Thanks for that Donna.

Hi ther,
I have managed to download the file from Realtex onto my desktop. I have extracted it. What do I do now.
Thanks
Kerry.

Hi there,
Looked back on one of the post's that Wrench97 put, after I extracted the file. I have got sound now. Thanks alot Wrench97 for all your help and information. I know now to keep the file and just to reinstall it. just in case for some reason i loose my sound.
Thanks again and regards,
Kerry.

Oh this is great news! Glad to hear you now have sound. :thumbsup2:

While I think of it, jcgriff2 pointed out to me that not all your updates are installed. IE should be at 11 on Windows 7. Yours is still at IE9. So make sure to go into Windows Updates and click on Check for updates.

Your thread is still open at Help2Go if you have any questions, or you can ask right here if you like.

The audio is indeed great news!

:thumbsup2:

Be sure to keep an eye on HDD space. You have a ~40 GB HDD & not very much free -
Code:
13.05 Gb Free Space

That number will likely decrease after Windows Updates + apps are installed.

Check for Windows Updates - www.update.microsoft.com

Hi to you all,
Thanks for the information about updating IE9 to IE11 on windows update.
I have just checked on windows update and noticed in the history of update that it has tried to install IE11 on the 22.1.14 and failed. I have ran it now 3 times and keeps failing. It fets to about 75% and then I get the error code 9C47. I have rebooted and nothing happens. When i check IE version, it is saying IE10.

Thanks
Kerry.

Hi,
I have done it again with another important update that needed installing. It has updated now in IE11.
Thanks again for your help and information.
Kerry.
