Hello,

since over a month I've got problems with my Windows 11 Pro 23H2 SystemBuild 22631.4460. I am not able to install any Windows Updates and SFC and DISM doesn't work anymore.

When I try to send SFC /SCANNOW I get the error: Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service
When I try to send DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth the process is starting and at about 84,9% I get the error: 0x800f081f The source files could not be found.
I've also tried to install Windows 11 24H2 via Windows update or tried to manually download and install it, but I get the error 0x800700c1.

It seems like there is something mainly corrupt because SFC and DISM do not work properly.

You can download all logfiles from here: Logs.zip

Thanks to everyone who can help me!

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Thanks dude, but I'm still getting the same errors.

Dude, you're faster than Lightning McQueen. Appreciate that.

This time the DISM process worked like a charm. I'm also able to start the SFC process.

How can I donate you and give you a small thanks? Personal donation or main donation on sysnative?

Great, please try also to update and let me know the result. You can donate to Sysnative using the following link: Donate to Sysnative

Thanks for your donation, that's much appreciated.. (y)

SFC /SCANNOW has found something and repaired it, after another scan no errors found. Windows Updates is also working like a charm.

Thank you very much for your help, you saved me a lot of time (no fresh install of windows is needed).

Can you explain me what the problem was and also which main steps your fixes has done? Just for me to know.

Hi,

You're welcome. Glad to hear everything is up-and-running. In this case multiple components of the Servicing Stack were corrupted, so I've replaced them with known good copies.

I will mark this thread as solved.
