[SOLVED] Randatlas' Thread Weird Chinese symbols in registry

OK, please do the following so I can gather more info.

FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
2. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
3. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
4. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please zip up and attach this file on your next reply.

Did I send you the wrong file?
If so, I will try again from home... I am away, on my tablet once again.
Sorry and thanks.

I could not proceed because of a message that came up after I clicked on Fix. Please see the attached screenshot.
The text file and the tool are in the same directory: my Desktop.

Can you show me a screen shot of your desktop showing FRST64.exe and fixlist.txt? So basically close the message box and FRST64 program so I can see the desktop. Thanks.

I am sorry - my mistake! When I downloaded fixlist.txt it went into my Downloads folder, so now I have copied it to my Desktop. Here comes the zipped-up fixlog.txt file.

I take it that you are having me run a different fix file to gather even more info.?

I hope I didn't do something wrong last night.

OK, good. I was trying to see if I could identify the root cause of these characters but the logs in your system don't go back as far as I need. So we just removed the funky characters. Let me know if you see any more of these. Other than that we should be done.

Dear BrianDrab,
Wow, they *are* gone!!! Thank you very much for your help!!!

So, were you were able to access my computer's registry and edit it based on information that was included in the text files that I sent you? Interesting.

Thank you again!!! Is there anywhere in this forum that I could give you a thumbs up or some other way to let people know how helpful you were to me?

Take care,

Randy

You just did. Thank you. :thumbsup2:

Hello,

Was looking at registry to make a backup of some entries and saw the following garbled entries. Was wondering what this was all about.

Recently, my machine, after latest windows updates, has been having issues waking up after Hibernate. This issue seemed to be Intel HD530 graphics driver related. Hence I installed some older drivers to see.

Thanks for your assistance.
