Random Cursor Freeze - New Toshiba Laptop - Windows 8.1 x64

Hello Pranav,

At this point it is the final option...

but the cursor lag/freeze occurs very often immediately after typing and other specific activities which leads me to believe that it is not a hardware (touchpad) issue, but rather software related. Like now, it just occurred while working on this reply...

However, following your advice I can definitively eliminate the touchpad as a cause altogether. :thumbsup2:

Thank you,

hjlbx

Yup. But, since your issue is occurring in Safe Mode as well, I don't think that it would be a software bug. I hope your system is up to date in Windows Update as well?

Let us know how it goes ^_^

Hello Pranav,

Updates to all the various components - drivers, chipset, OS, installed software - was part of my first efforts. Unfortunately, no dice...

So, as you state, at this point my only real option is to send it to Toshiba Service. Fortunately, I still have an active Limited Warranty.

If, in the end, that effort does not fix the issue, then I may just use the laptop as a test platform - to test and evaluate software, incompatibilities, etc. In that case I won't mind system resets, restores, and refreshes.

Many thanks for your advice...

hjlbx

PS - I will post the end results from Toshiba once I get the bugger back. May take a few months....

Don't worry, we would be here only ;)

But, I really wonder if it would take Toshiba this much time to send it back? o.O

Good luck!
