[SOLVED] re: Windows 7 update issue with 80070005 error code

There are remnants of various security programs present, some active and some not: Avast, McAfee, Norton, SuperAntiSpyware

Are these programs removed or not ?

This machine had virus issue before.. I uninstalled avast, mcafee , norton, superantuvirus etc
currently only malwarebytes is running

Step 1:
Download MCPR (McAfee Product Removal).
Start MCPR.exe and follow the instructions appearing.
When the tool is finished, restart the machine.

Step 2:
Download avastclear.exe and save it on your desktop.
Start avastclear.
If you see the message "Press ‘Yes’ to reboot into Safe Mode now and run this tool from there.", Click Yes.
When in Safe Mode, run the avastclear.exe and select the Avast product you want to uninstall.
On completion, restart the machine in Normal Mode.

Step 3:

  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.
