[SOLVED] Repeated prompt for windows update KB890830...

Either way is fine.

OK. I just ran the manual Update and no available Updates were found. From this point on, I'll let Windows Update run in the background and I'll make sure to let you know if I am prompted to install KB890830 again, as requested...

Thanks again :smile9:

Merging other thread.
Hello,

I am returning to start this thread to follow up on and add additional info regarding my previous thread, Repeated prompt for windows update KB890830...

A week ago, I installed the June 2015 version of KB890830 and it failed the first time I ran it, but did successfully install the second time around (link to image). Normally I would be thankful the update installed successfully, but given the May 2015 repeated prompts issue, I thought it would be a good idea to post the latest info here...

As a result of the continuing issue revolving around KB890830, I dug a little deeper and found Windows Update error 80246007. Could the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) have something to do with KB890830 repeatedly prompting and queuing for install? Based on WU error 80246007, I searched, found and ran a Windows Update Error Troubleshooter (link to image)...

Per Sysnative's Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions, please find the following:

1. I've run SFCFix --> SFCFix.zip ready for download/review and link to image...
2. I've run SFC /SCANNOW --> link to image...
3. I've exported the CBS folder after running SFC /SCANNOW --> CBS.zip ready for download/review...

Thanks in advance for your time and attention to this matter. It is certainly appreciated :)

I've merged your other thread into this one. No need for the 2nd one since this is the same issue. Can you provide me your C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log?

Thank you.

OK. Thank you for your response. Attached please find the WindowsUpdate.log (WindowsUpdate.zip) for your review/download...

Thanks again for your time and assistance. It is certainly appreciated...

I don't see anything in the logs to be alarmed about. Sometimes updates fail for countless reasons but if they are retried and install I wouldn't worry about it. Please let me know how it responds in July. I'm curious if you get the exact same issue or if it installs the first time OK.

OK. Sounds good. I'll make sure to keep you apprised...

Thanks again for your time and efforts in this matter. It is most definitely appreciated...

@BrianDrab - I apologize for not providing the update as promised in July. In any event, I wanted to let you know that KB890830 installed just fine in July, August, and September, so I guess whatever the anomaly was, it is no longer an issue...

Thank you for your time, efforts and expertise in this endeavor. It is most appreciated!
