Review log files?

OK, thank you.

I could ask you to try a couple of things, but that would not be wise from my part, since we are at the Forum with the Experts in Windows Updates problems. :-)

So...

Since the computer is clean now, I recommend you to go here, read the Windows Update Log Posting Instructions and start a new thread there. Tell the Update Experts that you have already passed from the Security Arena Forum and the computer is clean, providing a link to this thread. I am sure they will effectively guide you to solve your problem.

The following tool will remove the tools we used as well as reset system restore points, but leave it at the end of the whole process, as you may need to use again any of the tools.

Download KpRm by kernel-panik and save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click kprm_(version).exe and select Run as Administrator.
  • Read and accept the disclaimer.
  • When the tool opens, ensure all boxes under Actions are checked.
  • Under Delete Quarantines select Delete Now, then click Run.
  • Once complete, click OK.
  • A log will open in Notepad titled kprm-(date).txt.
  • Please copy and paste its contents in your next reply.

Thanks, here's the contents of the text file:

OK, I had told you to leave it at the end, but it's alright. :-)

The following tool will remove the tools we used as well as reset system restore points, but leave it at the end of the whole process, as you may need to use again any of the tools.

I see that no restore point was created. I will be watching the new thread at the Windows Update Forum. Have in mind that they are very busy there, so you may have to wait a bit for a response.

You are very welcome.

Let's wait a bit for the experts there.
