[SOLVED] Search window greyed out in Win 10

What does it says about the service? That it's running already, stopped, etc.?

You need to type in net start wsearch, not net helpmsg 2182.

Aura, I may not be able to complete this repair with your as I have a family issue that may require my attention in a few minutes. I may have to go with only a short notice. will you help me more at another time?

Yes of course. When you're ready to continue, just let me know :)

Alright, now can you try to use the search bar?

Aura, as I feared, I must go and I do so much appreciate your help. Let me know when we can work on this again.
Thanks
Mike

Search bar still not working same as before. Cortana not working as well. I have about 10 minutes before I must go. any ideas? M

Aura,
I know your time is extremely valuable and I know it is a pain that I am being called away. I apologize but have no options. Mike

No problem Mike it's no worries. Let me know when you're back online and we'll continue :)

Good Morning,
I took care of my family problem yesterday and am available for a few hours today. I should be able to work with no interruptions. If this works for you ok otherwise maybe we can pick another time.

Mike

So here is a snapshot of where I am. SFC finds no problems, DISM finds no problems. SFCFix.exe no problems. I reinstalled all of the windows apps. Cortana and Windows Search will not run from there icons or boxes. I checked the status of services and see that Windows Search is "running". I can't tell anything about Cortana as it won't launch from the icon. There are other issues. I can't create another "user" it just says "there is a problem". Mike

Alright, here's what we'll try next.
