Great, please run the following fixlist to remove all the InstallMapMissingComponentKey values and to restore values in the SBS key.

Start the
577bf0efb8088-FRST.png
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool again.

Warning: This script was written specifically for this system. Do not run this script on another system.
  • Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click on FRST.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  • Press the Fix button.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally.
  • When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Afterwards run the System File Checker.
Code:
sfc /scannow

Hi,

Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

That is the only log on CBS folder.
in general I remove the CBS and DISM folder before run the command so we have only the result for the that new command.

Please don't remove both folders, this is because essential information can be lost.
Try to update Windows, if it fails attach the CBS log, I don't need the DISM log.

Hi,

That's really great, this was a very difficult problem to fix. Glad to hear Windows Update is working fine now... (y)

Are you able to install the GUI as well?

I tested but was getting error yet but since the issue to do a in-place upgrade to Windows server 2016 was because the KBs that didn't install, I tested the in-place upgrade and now the server is on Windows Server 2016 Standard and with normal GUI and explorer working normal.

Thanks again @Maxstar like told in the start of the post, even Microsoft can't fix that and told me I will need to reinstall the server with no other solution so I can tell, you really are the best guy I know on that area, really helpful and if get any rock on the way you find your way out to sort any issue. Very appreciate!

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for your kind words. Glad to hear the remaining issues has been resolved with an in-place upgrade to Server 2016.
