I'm not sure I understand what needs to be done. It's a VM having issues thats running on a Hyper-V host. Is there something hyper-v related I can disable for this update and still have the VM functional?
Some background that may be helpful for finding a solution on this:
2012r2 Hyper-v host with two vms on it. 1 2012r2 DC and 1 2012r2 App server
Both VMs had "weird" issues patching so the DC was recreated by another tech to fix the issue. The DC was easy to recreate since that was it's only role. The App server houses a handful of applications that would require 3rd party vendor involvement and downtime to recreate so I'm hoping we can get the patching figured out. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help narrow down the issue to help with a solution.
I have access to Hyper-v hosts and hyper-v vms that function normally in other environments. For the issue in this thread the hyper-v host has no patching issues and appears to function correctly, it's just the APP vm that isn't patching correctly.
I'm not sure if this changes anything... but KB3063109, which is the currently installed Hyper-V integration components, seems to be the root of all the issues. I cannot get this KB removed/uninstalled without it rolling back changes. Iv'e tried removing it in safe mode and stopped the Hyper V services on this guest VM. Is there anyway to get this KB3063109 removed or figure out why it gets to 9% reboots and undoes changes?
