Relevant? errors in cbs.log: 12:09pm - 12:13pm install time

  • sfc /scannow completes with no errors
  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth completes with no issues.

As a trainee, any instructions I give you must first be checked by a qualified update expert, before I post them. This will by necessity introduce some delay to any of my replies, so please be patient.

I am looking over your logs now, and will be back as soon as I've finished analysing them.

Whilst I'm doing that, can you please do the following ....

  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service.
  • Examples of services to upload to are WeTransfer and TransferKit and SendFileOnline

Please post me the link to the file

  • Download SFCFix.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Download the attachment SFCFixScript.txt and also save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFixScrip.txt file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

Looking over your latest CBS.log now.

Good news is that the stuff we fixed is no longer being flagged.

Bad news is, from the brief look I've had so far, there's a whole new bunch of things that need fixing.

Getting late here (11pm my time) so it will be tomorrow before I get to look things over properly.
