'sfc /scannow' Exexcution Yields Response 'WRP cannot perform requested operatiom.'

It looks like your latest CBS.log is gone from OneDrive, can you do a new scan and upload it for me please?

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
    Spcusrh.png
    Run as Administrator
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
  • Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter
    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;
Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't contains the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

I'll get this cloud file sharing down eventually.
OneDrive link in (my post #40) only shares file 'cbs.txt'.
Please excuse my ineptness while learning how to use cloud backup.

Both of your requested files 'SFCFix' (your post #39) and 'cbs.txt' (your post #41) should be available at OneDrive link https://onedrive.live.com/redir?res...05&authkey=!AFq3SFu0JAcFt5c&ithint=folder,zip.

And learning how to use this forum also.
'(my post #40)' above should have read '(my post #42)'.

Alright follow the instructions below please.
  • Right-click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Control Panel;
  • From there, select Programs and Features in the list;
  • Click on Turn On and Off Windows Features;
  • In the list, uncheck Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5 and let the operation complete;
  • Once done, restart your computer;
  • After the restart, repeat the process but this time check the option and let the operation complete;
  • Restart the computer once again;
Let me know if you can't disable and/or enable the feature, and if so, what error code are you getting.

Was able to follow your instructions with two minor exceptions.

First note in image below that 'Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5' on my system is '.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)'.

In addition, note '.NET Framework 4.5 Advanced Services' is also installed on my system.

Both '.NET Framework 3.5' and '.NET Framework 4.5' folders were expanded to be able to see their respective sub-folders.

Following your instructions nothing was done (changed) to '.NET Framework 4.5'.

'.NET Framework 4.5' had (and still has) a solid box, 'ASP.NET 4.5' had (and still has) a check mark, and 'WCF Services' had (and still has) no check mark.

'.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)' had a solid box and (and I think) one of its subfolders had a check mark and other subfolder didn't have a check mark.

Following your instructions '.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)' was first disabled and then enabled.

The image just below shows '.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)' fully enabled (to change from solid box to a check mark).

Windows Features.jpg

The next image shows the exception noted twice.
Once when the requested Windows Features item was first disabled and second when re-enabled.

Error Code_ 0x800703F1.jpg

Meaning that this was the error resulting of first attempt to disable and first attempt to disable.
On the second attempts an error was not received and the requested actions of disabling and enabling the Windows Features item was achieved.
In other words it took two attempts to disable before '.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)' was successfully disabled and two attempts to enable before successfully enabled.

I was expecting it to happen, but if we're lucky, this procedure should have repaired a few files that were reported as corrupt by SFC in our last scan. Let's run it again and check.

We'll attempt to fix one file. If it works, I'll apply the fix for all the others.

Just below is the requested 'SFCFix.txt' file.
Below this request for the 'SFCFix.txt' file in your last instructions was a request for another SFC scan and 'cbs.txt' file.
Did you intend this second request before reviewing the 'SFCFix.txt' file
If this was your intention, I've included it below the 'SFCFix.txt'.

See latest requested SFC scan 'cbs.txt' file in zip folder 'cbs' at OneDrive link https://onedrive.live.com/redir?res...05&authkey=!AFq3SFu0JAcFt5c&ithint=folder,txt.

The non-zipped 'cbs' file (at the same OneDrive link) is your previous post 'cbs' file request.
Do you need previous and current (latest) 'cbs' files for comparison?
I have been deleting previous 'cbs' file requests from OneDrive to eliminate confusion for myself.

It seems like the fix via SFCFix failed. Follow the instructions below please.
  • Go in your Folder Options, under the View tab, and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types;
  • Go on your Desktop, create a new text documents that you'll name Fix.reg (.reg being the file extension that you'll change from .txt);
  • Right-click on your file and select Edit;
  • Copy/paste the following in it:
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\Components\x86_netfx-aspnet_webadmin_users_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_6.3.9600.16384_none_4cc4ad18b1f53a26]
    "f!edituser.aspx"=dword:00000001
  • Once done, save it (press Ctrl + S), then exit the file, and double-click on it;
  • Accept to merge it in the Registry;
  • Once done, open a command prompt with Admin Rights and enter the following command;
    Code:
    REG QUERY "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\Components\x86_netfx-aspnet_webadmin_users_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_6.3.9600.16384_none_4cc4ad18b1f53a26" > %userprofile%\Desktop\Results.txt
  • A file called Results.txt will appear on your Desktop;
  • Open it and copy/paste it's content here;

Need a little help.

Can't seem to figure out my hang-up in following one of your instructions.
I'm good to your instruction 'Accept to merge it in the Registry;'.
When I double-click my Desktop 'Fix.reg' file that has your script

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\Components\x86_netfx-aspnet_webadmin_users_b03f5f7f11d50a3a_6.3.9600.16384_none_4cc4ad18b1f53a26]
"f!edituser.aspx"=dword:00000001

edited into it I get the following dialog Windows images.

Registry Warning.jpg

Clicking 'Yes' I get.

Error Accessing Registry.jpg

It's from here I don't know what to do to get Windows to import your script into the registry.

I've done a brief search on the Internet but can't find a solution that fits my specific situation.

Know it's probably something simple I'm overlooking.

Is it maybe a 'permissions' thing where this must be done (executed) by an Administrator?

My Desktop 'Fix.reg' file is in my normal User Account 'C:\Users\Bernard Spaulding\Desktop\' folder.

Are you able to open the program regedit.exe?

Alright, open regedit.exe (the Registry Editor) and click on the little arrow by the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder. Do you see a folder called COMPONENTS there?

No 'COMPONENTS' folder found under HKLM.
Folders found under HKLM are 'BCD00000000', 'HARDWARE', 'SAM', 'SECURITY', 'SOFTWARE', and 'SYSTEM'.

Alright. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then click on the File menu and select Load Hive.... From there, go in C:\Windows\System32\config and select the COMPONENTS file. Once loaded, try to merge the .reg script I made you create again.

COMPONENTS subfolder now in HKLM folder of registry.

Registry.jpg

'Fix.reg' file merged into registry.

'Fix.reg' Merged.jpg

Cannot create 'Results.txt' file (syntax error).

You forgot the "" around %userprofile%\Desktop\Results.txt
