Update
Actually I think it is the exact same result, FC matches them line-for-line apart from the timestamp.

Step 1:
Right-click the Start button and click Command prompt(Administrator).
If you get a popup about UserAccountControl, allow the program to run.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.

Code:
dism /online /remove-package /PackageName:Package_for_KB2952664~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.16.5

Provide a screenshot of the result.

Step 2:
Start the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
On completion, attach the logfile C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your next reply.

I noticed CBS.log also had today's date so I've attached that too in addition to CheckSUR.log

We can try to cleanup the 2 remaining issues but maybe that is not needed.
Check Windows Update again. Provide a screenshot of the available important updates only. Do not install any of them yet.

Important and Optional categories.

Try to install the important update only.
If it fails, attach the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log.

Sorry if this isn't clear, I ran checksur as well because that seemed to make the list of updates appear.
Then I've tried to download and manually install two updates that seemed to be listed as inportant. It is a bit wierd though because in each case if you go to MS you get a list of six files, I don't know if that means the updates are roll-up updates or just that they are packaged with prerequisites to save time.

Some system tray tools seem to work now that didn't before, including the Intel RST controls.

Step 1:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.

Step 2:
Start the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
On completion, attach the logfile C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your next reply.

Sorry there's more since my last post...

I've tried a couple of other things since then, mainly kb3125574 in the hope it might overwrite some of the problems and a few attempts to get the Diagnostic Policy Service to run (it didn't).

Here's the latest CBS.log.

Lets concentrate on the 2 issues in the file CheckSur.log first.
Please perform the 2 steps given in my previous post.

Step 1:
WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.
    1p8eDnI.gif
  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Attach that file to your next reply.

Step 2:
Start the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
On completion, attach the logfile C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your next reply.

I'm going to factory restore it today. There's no longer any need to recover the installation as we now have the install files and license for the software.

Thanks for all the help.

Your welcome.

Take care.
