[SOLVED] sfcfix problem windows 7

Your welcome.

There is still an issue with the SuperFetch service but if you feel your computer runs fine we can quit. The SuperFetch issue can be related to the Windows 7 version you are using.
If you like you can run the fix below that may fix the SuperFetch issue.

Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

I thought I'd read somewhere that Superfetch could be switched off with little difference in performance?

Dunno, don't mess with Windows services if unsure what they do.
Please do a new scan with FRST to see if the SuperFetch error is fixed now:

FRST Scan:
  1. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  2. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  3. Press the Scan button.
  4. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  5. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

The issue with SuperFetch seems to be fixed.
I think we can close this thread.

Start Windows Defender, update it and perform a system scan.

Follow the instructions below to cleanup the tools and logfiles used in this thread.
Rename the file FRST.exe to uninstall.exe and run it. This will remove all files and folders created by FRST and the tool itself.
Reboot the machine to complete.
You may remove all other tools and log files.
Also make sure to have a backup of all your important data.

I've done all that. Thank you for all your help and it looks like my problems have been well and truly solved. Many thanks.

Your welcome.

Take care.
