Sound crackling / pops / Clicks while playing games and listening to music

okay i fixed it for now :D i used a Win10 USB and set up the PC completely not over the windows options

Nice! Thank you for letting me know.

I wonder what changed from moving that would require a clean Windows reinstall. Very strange. Can I bother you for a 30 second trace of the system as it is now, running what would have caused problems before?

I think I managed to filter out the data to the point of being able to see where the audio glitches were happening in the old traces but I don't know why it's doing what it appears to be doing.

yes i will provide you with a trace :) i was away for a few days.
I still get crackling sometimes but less then 1%(im sure those will be gone after upgrading my mainboard CPU GPU) of what it was before and weirdly enough in other games that didnt have the problem before

Thank you for following up. :) The impression I get from the old traces is the CPU is just overall very busy to the point that higher priority tasks are preempting audio related work. I'm hoping a new trace will clarify whether or not that's the case.

you can not make this up .... it was working fine for a few days and just a few minutes ago i had a power outage because of a storm that only lasted a few seconds and the audio issues are back

The Universe does not want us to figure this out, apparently.

Capturing a trace does have a performance hit. Were you trying to capture a trace when the audio issues returned?

The trace was made with audio issues yes.

i cannot believe this is acually happening.
everything worked fine for 22-26th and now after that power outage its back

I don't think I was clear - what I meant to ask is were you running a trace when the power outage happened?

sorry i missunderstood your question:
i was writing the comment of how i will do another trace for you while playing the game just fine.
a few minutes later the power outage happened after that i had issues again.
this is when i downloaded WPR and MXa.
So no i was not trying to record while the outage happened

I see. Thank you for clarifying as I was going down the wrong path in my thinking as to possible causes. I'll have a look and see if I can find any new information.

Is getting a trace doing the same thing on your friend's computer still an option? Meaning, while it's doing the same type of work but not experiencing audio problems.

yes i asked him right now we will do a trace on his system tomorrow or maybe on Friday.
im still in disbelief that a power outage could cause this to happen again.

Sounds good.

Yeah, it's very strange. I can think of a couple of possibilities. File system corruption could be causing the system to run diagnostics in the background but I would expect it to eventually settle down if that was the case. The other is that device/service priorities were changed around after the system rebooted but that seems unlikely unless your system hadn't been rebooted since the reinstall.

i found this could that be an issue ?

System interupts and it has throttling enabled

also 1 thing i did before playing today is installing RealVNC because i use it for homeoffice.
because i wasnt playing that long before the outage and i might just not have realised that the crackling is back
i uninstalled it again right now but no effect
