Apologies, I've only just seen your flag for me.

The two dumps are not exactly current, one is dated 28th August and the other 18th September and much may have changed on the system since then. However they are both caused by nvlddmkm.sys (the Nvidia driver) running a DPC (the back-end of interrupt processing) for longer than permitted - hence the BSODs.

The thing with laptops is that the graphics driver is often customised, both for operational and power saving reasons. The generic driver from Nvidia might then not be suitable. I would first advise downloading DDU and uninstalling the existing Nvidia driver, the system will reboot. Then download and install the latest graphics driver for that model of laptop from the Lenovo website. That driver is guaranteed to be compatible with the laptop.

If that driver BSODs then the cause here could be the driver or the card. I generally advise the following....
  • Download the most recent three graphics driver from the Nvidia website.
  • Use DDU to uninstall the current Nvidia driver, the system will reboot.
  • Install the most recent graphics driver and test.
  • If it BSODs then use DDU to uninstall that driver and then install the next version back driver.
  • If it BSODs then use DDU again to uninstall that driver and then install the two version back driver.
  • If it BSODs on all three most recent drivers using DDU in between then it's most likely a graphics card problem.

Hi, guys.

Actually, I already used DDU to uninstall drivers, and then install the latest NVidia driver.

Do you suggest to repeat the procedure with DDU, but this time to use the Lenovo app to install NVidia?

I just did that anyway: uninstalled the drivers with DDU and then ran the Lenovo app to update NVidia.

Let's see now...

If it fails with the Lenovo driver and with the latest Nvidia driver, and using DDU in between, then I'd be pretty confident it was the graphics card itself at fault.

Unfortunately, now, I can't even open a movie from Netflix. It's trying to open and then back to the Home page. I had this before I updated the drivers. I thought having sound and no video was an improvement. Now what? :(

Well, it was not a good idea to use the drivers offered by Lenovo. The computer started to freeze again, after a week. So, I uninstall the drivers again and installed using NVCleanInstall tool. The only problem with that was the "no video" at Netflix sometimes. Much better than freezing, needing a hard restart.

Are you using the MS Store Netflix app or the Web interface? If the web interface via Chrome or Firefox, etc., turn off any ad blocking (or whitelist Netflix) whether using an extension or built in ad-blocker or both.

It is the app. I tried to uninstalled and reinstalled it some time ago, without any change.

Try it via the web interface please.

The issue (audio but no video) I have now occurs sometimes, not all the times I use Netflix. Using the web interface didn't give me issues the few times I tried it, but it's not very convenient to keep it (entering credentials every time I need it).

How I deal with the sound/no image-black screen in Netflix: I "blindly" move the cursor at the upper right corner and click the invisible X to close Netflix. After that, I open Netflix again and everything is fine. Strange, isn't it?
