This is finally fixed. The NIC driver downgrade fixed the stuttering, and I then tracked down the clicking/popping noise to the media I was playing (I played a higher quality version and it's flawless). I guess AirPlay brings out all the defects, despite the fact the media played perfectly on my desktop computer speakers and my entertainment system speakers. Thank you for all of the help Cluberti!
