A few other record breakers....

SFCFix by @niemiro has been downloaded at least 350,000 times (we unfortunately don't have stats going back to the original launch, plus other sites have mirrored copies - but most likely this is closer to 500,000 downloads).

Windows Update has become our most popular section, with 169,000+ posts, and 10k+ threads!

Our BSOD section has over 2.2k threads with users helped.

And most importantly.... our forums have been live for exactly 10 years!

I still remember conversations with @niemiro about creating a Windows Update forum. It took a bit of convincing but the overwhelming number of people helped over the years has certainly shown that it was a wise decision to proceed.

1645304136649.png The Windows Update record is great. Unfortunately it points to a major failing of Microsoft. A service so important to security should be practically flawless. I wonder if many people, not being aware of Sysnative and others, just give up on Updating. JCs analysis apps are a great service to our industry. On our way to 20.

Unfortunately it points to a major failing of Microsoft.
Two different people take two identical devices out of the box and the next thing you know, they are no longer identical. People install different programs, have different practices for updating those programs as well as the device drivers and suddenly there are problems, either with BSODs, Windows Update, or other issues. Fortunately, we have the tools and the expertise here at Sysnative to help and continue breaking records!

When you consider just how many variables that Microsoft have to account for when they update Windows, and the number of machines they are updating, then IMO it's surprising that more people don't have problems with their updates.

That's not to say that they couldn't do better, but then other Operating Systems suffer with update problems as well.

Sadly users of those don't have anywhere like SysNative that they can come to if they have problems, and have to deal with their update problems themselves, so we don't really have a clear idea of just how prevalent update problems are with say Macs, or Linux.

Macs are known for a much befter customer service, if you think about it you wouldn’t be surprised. They make the hardware, they make the software. Many drivers come pre-installed. Less variables etc as you say about windows

You've forget to mention "they make it expensive".. And the comparison with Windows is also hard to make, for both operating systems is not the same amount of software available. In particular the crap, so many problems are not directly OS related but in many cases more user related.

True
Also the hardware manufacturers also install trash before handing it to the user
