System Interrupts, Stuttering, Clicks and Pops

Are you suggesting I uninstall BOTH Realtek drivers BEFORE doing anything else? Or just the one? I know it reinstalls itself, but I know I have one working and I've been having problems getting High Definition Audio to work since the latest update as well (I'm told that's better than Realtek and I've used it in the past, but now only Realtek seems to work).

For now I'm happy just uninstalling the McAfee things, then repairing Windows if needed. The problem started before I had double Realtek entries, so that's unrelated I believe. Your other suggestions are the things that I think could be related: McAfee, or broken files. It may take a few days to test it out as well, but I can record more content then just make a point of editing a lot of material to see if problems start occurring, and maybe even keep a Twitch page open too when I'm done.

@DR M May I suggest using DDU to uninstall the Realtek drivers (in safe mode) ?

Utilizing DDU Display Driver Uninstaller Properly

Of course. :-)

Drivers issue is not my strength so if it is something you think it will help, it is very welcome.

Personally I meant an uninstalling via Device Manager.
I'll take that as a yes.

So now I remember how and why I wound up with two Realtek drivers. After uninstalling and reinstalling, this happens:

Realtek audio does nothing. NVIDIA High Definition Audio does not work. I have to change it to standard High Definition Audio. I have done so. I am rebooting now.

By the way, I removed the McAfee Web Advisor for my first latency killing test. Going one at a time, a few days likely between removals, to test what the actual cause seems to be.

EDIT: Still no sound. Advice?

By the way, a note to this: desktop audio is shown in the OBS and other audio areas. However, neither the audio port in the back of the computer nor the front of the computer (the latter being the one I regularly use) is showing any audio coming through. If I recorded something and later played it on the laptop, it would likely work. This started since the last Windows Update. I had Microsoft fix it before, but now that I've played with it again, it's not working.

EDIT AGAIN: Got it working, I had to unplug and plug it back in to tell the system it was a front speaker being plugged in, now operating on speakers and not on the default device (which seems to be what my computer likes to change to). Not messing with that for now. On to seeing if my latency is gone after the removal of Web Advisor, next test will be the other one mentioned earlier. Will update on what happens. May be a few days or even over a week, please do not retire the thread as I'll reuse this. :-)

Cyclone,

I don't have any suggestions.

BUT:

Here it is an article regarding NVidia High Definition Audio problems: FIX: Nvidia High Definition Audio no sound/not working
Perhaps it helps.

Another one here: 8 Fixes For Nvidia High Definition Audio No Sound

And here it is another interesting article about NVdia and drivers you need (read about HD Audio Driver): Make sure you only install Nvidia drivers you need - gHacks Tech News

Apart from the above, I still recommend the in-place upgrade, since you are 2 critical upgrades behind.

So this is promising.

Usually have not been able to go this long without some kind of latency of late. I will have to see what happens if I try to run Twitch and Youtube for a bit. If I'm good after that, then we have this fixed. I've been running Chrome the entire time as well sans WebAdvisor, so that seems to have been, at least, a contributing factor.
