Hi Jraju

SFC is reporting no further errors so let's see what's happening with system restore.

Please try to create a system restore point and report back any issues.

Hi, Thanks so much.
should i create a new restore point or could try old restore point.i ask this because, i could access the restore points, but the problem, i faced was while restoing it to that date.
shall i try old restore points and report bacm.
i have some queries that i will ask after your reply

Hi Jraju

I suspect the older restore points are corrupt and cannot be used.

Please delete all restore points, create a new one and then try to restore and report back any issues.

Hi, bruce sorry for late reorting as as i could not log in to my compter. i deleted my restore points and created a fresh restore point and tried the system restore. i get the unsuccessful message and i enclose the same.
i have queries to ask, but let me tell your requirements for solution.

Hi Jraju

Please do the following.

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to check your SMART status with GSmartControl:

  • Download the portable version of GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the zip file to your Desktop. Open the folder gsmartcontrol-1.1.3-win64 which should be located on your Desktop and double-click gsmartcontrol.exe to launch the program.
  • Identify your drive in the list (if recognized by the tool), and hover your mouse over it.
  • You should see something called: SMART status. It will either read: Enabled, in which case you should do the following:
  • Double-click on it to bring up its window (usually you'll find your drive by its size or its brand name);
  • Go to the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply or take a screenshot;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
  • Please note: If the SMART Status reads: Unsupported, stop and let me know.

Hi Jraju

This sounds like one or more of your registry hives are corrupt and beyond repair and is preventing a restore - your system restore is working as you are able to create restore points.

Unfortunately we won't be able to fix that. The alternative option is to reinstall your operating system. This could be either a repair install of windows 7 or an in-place upgrade to windows 10, which would be my recommended solution as Windows 7 is no longer supported by microsoft.

If you wish to proceed to upgrade to windows 10 please do the following.

  1. Download the Media Creation Tool and save this to your desktop. Go ahead and run this as well. Note: Click the Download tool now button when you get to this link.
  2. Accept the License Agreement.
  3. Download the ISO file to your desktop.
  4. Double-click on the ISO and then run the setup to try and upgrade your machine.
Make sure you go through the Create installation for another PC option as we want to get the ISO so that you don't have to keep downloading which can take hours.

Let me know how you wish to progress and any questions you have. :-)
