I had a crash of my system partition and some file are corrupt now.
With the help of SURT I tried to find the reason and repaired most of it by replacing some manifest, mum & cat files.

This worked in generally fine with most KB related entries. But I am still stuck with some files.

In the checksur log I find

Have you tested your hard drive?

A system crash (or even an app crash) should not result in the loss or corruption of files as you have described.

Run SeaTools for DOS, LONG test on all internal hard drives - Hard Drive (HDD) Diagnostics (Sea Tools for DOS) & SSD Test

After you test the hard drive, I'll move this thread over to Windows Update forum where the system file experts answer threads like this and know how/where to obtain missing and corrupted system files.

Regards. . .

The harddisk is fine. I resized the system partition and thought I have a backup from some days ago. I checked the date but not the year. it was 2018 and not 2019.
After resizing I had "some" errors and Windows tried to repair automatically after restart.

All errors which are left are atm

I could install all updates. Only KB4525235 makes still problems. It installs, asking for reboot and after the restart it tells me that it failed.

Hello!

Here's a fix for those files:

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Afterwards, run System Update Readiness Tool again and attach CheckSUR.log.

After installing KB452535 the computer wants to reboot and afterwards it says that the installation failed.
The CBS.log is attached as rar.

Thanks.

Add Missing Package
1. Click the Start button and type cmd.exe in the search box.
2. Right-click on the cmd that comes up and select Run as administrator.
3. Once you are at the command prompt, copy/paste the following line and hit enter.
pnputil -a C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_input.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.24145_none_7eff7eb14ff2a230\input.inf

Let me know if it says successfully installed. If it does, try updating again and if any updates fail, attach CBS.log and setupapi.dev.log.

Unfortunately it did not work:

Code:
Microsoft PnP Utility

Processing inf : input.inf
Adding the driver package failed : The style of the INF is different than what was requested.

Total attempted: 1
Number successfully imported: 0

That inf file doesn't seem to be a txt-file but more a binary. Is this correct?
The same with the
C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_input.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.24386_none_7ed5431750122599\input.inf

I found the inf on another computer. The file in the WinSxS folder I cannot replace, but I could run
pnputil -a C:\Temp\amd64_input.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.24145_none_7eff7eb14ff2a230\input.inf
without an error message.
