[SOLVED] Unable to install Powershell 5.1 on Windows 7 SP1 x64

This computer has an operating system that has not been reinstalled for almost 10 years. Is that why it's so hard to fix errors?

No. Al through older systems may have more issues/errors each machine is different and so the required fixes for each machine varies.

Step 1:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on English.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.

Step 2:
Try to install KB2819745 only and report the result.
If it fails attach the file cbs.log to your next reply.

The log file is not complete.
Restart the machine and attach a fresh copy of the file cbs.log.

There is no error in the log. Was the installation of KB2819745 successful ?

1 hour....still initializing....Do you think I have to wait a few hours for something to happen?

Great.
Try to install KB3191566 (Windows Management Framework 5.1) only and report the result. Please be patient with this one also.

The log does not contain an error.
I suggest to try the installation again while you are sleeping, leaving the machine to do its job.
Hopefully it will finish at some time, successful or not.

Success!
Thank you @PeterJ :-)
Why was solving this problem so complicated?

Dunno, maybe we just didn't wait long enough for the installation to complete as that seems to have solved it for both PowerShell updates.
At least we fixed some other issues.

I don't see anything in that screenshot related to Java. Uninstall Java and try HP Printer Assistant again.

I tried several times, no success.
A re-install of HP Printer Assistant doesn't solve the issue ?
