[SOLVED] Unable to use Windows Repair Install and Sfc/DISM Failing

Here's the next fix, please post also the percentage of DISM to see if we still make some progress.

Step 1.

  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Now I'll need to install the en-GB language pack and a specific update from November last year to provide the next fix, so this may take some time.
 
Hmm, none of my regular Win10 pro VM's have the latest corrupted component, I have this one only on an Enterprise version which I had to rebuild after loading a previous snapshot!

Please do the following first, just to check some things.

Run COMPACT to check the compression state of files
  • Open the Start menu of Windows and type CMD.
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, select the option Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt and press enter.
