Tried this troubleshooter several times and it never fixed the problem, but I ran it again per your request. Here are the updates that are ready to be installed (same as before):KB3065822, KB3067505, KBN3069392, KB3070102, KB3072630, KB3054256, and optional KB3058168.

I read where KB3067505 requires the following to be installed before installing this one: KB2919355, KB2932046, KB2959977, KB2937592, KB2934018. The only one that I have installed is KB2919355.

Downloaded and ran the fixes you pointed me to. Rebooted and Windows Update working ok now. Reran SFC and Chkdsk in read only and they seemed ok as well. Noticed some issues with my email (can receive, but not send), so am using my laptop to send this message.

Are all the repairs in the downloaded product compatible with the Windows 8.1 pro x64 OS? Will it work on the upcoming Windows 10 OS? Is the premium version worth buying?

Thanks again for all your help.

Glad to hear Windows Update is working for you now :thumbsup2:

Yes, the repairs are compatible with Windows 8.1, I would not recommend running the fixes unless they are required - the file permission reset in particular is a last resort, Windows uses file permissions to prevent system files from being modified and that reset allows full access to all files for any program on the computer.

Many of the features should work with Windows 10, I'm sure the program will be updated eventually.

As for purchasing the Pro features, that would be entirely up to you. It is one way to support the development of useful utilities :)

I will mark the thread as solved, if you encounter any further problems please post back and I will continue to assist you.
