UPS clicking -- 3rd slave hard disk error press F1 to resume

You have to be a little careful inside the case, so yes, you can damage the system, but it's not rocket science either. Your case might have been a little trickier to pull apart like Digerati was explaining. At least it's straightened out and working again.

Yes, thank you very much, Fred and Digerati . . . Dave

the repair guy said that if we tried to take out the hard drive ourselves, it might cause some harm -- is that true? Dave
If you went in there with a crowbar and a hammer, or didn't unplug power from the wall or discharge static from your body first and haphazardly went around and touched things, then maybe it might cause some harm. But of all the devices inside our cases, hard drives are probably the most robust. So I am a little suspicious of his claim but without knowing exactly what he said or was referring to, I will reserve judgement. And since most shops charge a minimum of 1 hour of labor for all jobs and $60/hour is a very fair rate so, if you are happy with the job they did, I'd say all is good.

Thank you very much, Digerati -- that is very helpful . . . Dave
