Corrine, are you speaking of the new (2002-2011) Beetle or the old VW Beetle... I am a huge fan of the air-cooled Volkswagens, and I always have been.

Ever since the unveiling of Concept One (VW New Beetle) I wasn't a big fan of it's styling. It was too round and too bubbly. The newest incarnation is a vast improvement IMHO. It would be a car that I would drive. Not so much the previous.

Old, GZ, very old. Think "Herbie the Love Bug" era. I remember one winter storm when businesses were closing early. Cars were stranded in the parking lot and on the highways. Hubby was not only able to pick me up from work but also able to get two stranded co-workers home with the VW.

I had a few of them myself, a 1966, then a 1963 with the motor from the 66 in it then a 67 with the transaxle from the 66 then a 68 they were like little tanks took a lot of abuse .....................

I have owned several Air-Cooled VW's in the past... The last one I sold in 1999 when my son was born... These are the three that I drove.
1972 VW Superbeetle - My first car... Stripped it down and split the frame to repair and build into a dune-buggey... My Step-Dad scrapped it on me one week after I moved out of his house.
1971 VW Superbeetle - My second car... Drove it to Wal-Mart in the blizzard of '96... Was passing SUVs and trucks stuck on the side of the road... Rebuilt the motor and it sucked a valve @ 110,000... Ended up giving it to my best friend who dismantled it.
1956 VW "Deluxe" Beetle... 1776cc franken-motor with dual-carb Holley-Weber (from a Ford Pinto) on a custom intake... Sold it when my son was born because I didn't want to drill the frame to install seatbelts.

Oh dear why would you let the kid(s) drive the Vette?? You must have felt very generous that day.

Also, by "son", that is a word of relation, not necessarily age lol. So it could have been an adult as well by referring to her "son".

By "son", this can mean anything from being a baby, up until an old adult. But by the context it was used in, I would assume perhaps 18 and older (here in Canada) anyways, approximately. It doesn't mean 18 though automatically. :thumbsup2:

I'm fully aware, but I simply jest that the age doesn't matter, you just can't trust your offspring with your stuff!

If I had a Viper or a Lambo, I wouldn't trust anybody with it, nevermind just the people related to me lol.
