Vista 32-bit on AMD 64 HP s3200n - SP1 says installed but keeps offering it

Unless of course someone could burn the standalone 32-bit Vista SP1 and SP2 to DVD for me. ;) If someone has the bandwidth to do that, PM me for the mailing addy.

Yes, you can suggest the manual SP1, but I won't be able to do that til after the 22nd of this month when our Verizon Wirelss rolls over to the next month. Because of this system, I have already used up 50% of our 14GB monthly allotment. Sigh...

No problem :)

It was a bit of a cop-out solution anyway (although I have seen it work a couple of times - or rather, properly fail & give me the lead I needed to fix the root cause). I'll take another look over your logs & see if there's anything I can do to *fix* the issue.

Well, now it's worse. I reinstalled MSE and it will not update at all now. So that error it had before apparently was symptomatic.

Joy...LOL!

I wish Microsoft would provide everyone who has a license for Vista 32-bit or 64-bit with a DVD install of Vista w/SP2 slipstreamed free of charge just for these headaches.

I understand that once you get to SP2, Vista is supposed to not suck so much, but you do have to actually get there...sigh.

I thank you for your help Richard. If you figure out anything, please let me know.

If you need anything else, let me know and I will try to get it for you.

I just uninstalled MSE and installed my ESET NOD32 instead. Took care of not being protected.
