Hello Peter

Attached is the Fixlog.txt

By the way, if you recall from my first post I mentioned this Windows Update issue would cause my PC to take up to 10 minutes after shutdown and turning on / sometimes after restarting - from attempting to install update to failure, reverting changes etc etc etc. Since this morning, after shutting down twice and turning on, it has not been doing this. Seems what you've had me do previously, removed the attempt to install Updates, which is great for now.

Sorry Peter,
I'm afraid I spoke to soon. PC needed to be on long enough for it to attempt to download update and then it tried to install again after I restarted (wanted to test the above 1 more time). Then the same nonsense happened again.

I see my Windows Update is set to install automatically everyday. I think I should turn this off.

I now see the updates here

No cbs log needed to attach at the moment seeing as it was successful. I'll attempt to upgrade Windows again now, there are 4 optional updates available but I'm not going to touch those unless you advise that I install them should the upgrade fail

Hi Peter,

Been a busy day, sorry.

It seemed to be doing very well, it looked like it was done. It even got to a point of restarting, back to old Windows 7 and then booting again and showing a "Checking for Updates" for Windows 10, all during the setup process. Then it failed again (Black screen with text at the bottom "Undoing changes made to your computer".

Windows Update:

I checked, there was only 1. It installed successfully.

I restarted, when to Windows Update and it showed 1 failed update again....but what's odd is I didn't try downloading or installing any others, there was no option.

I see all that's left now are 2 optional updates. Do I even need to bother with these? One of them, is an "Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3102429) and this is one, when looking at history that keeps failing too.

What do you suggest I do?

Hi Peter,

Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log.
  1. Download SURT for your system. (Windows 7 SP1 x64)
  2. Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go through the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes).
  3. On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.
  4. Attach this log to your next reply.
Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below.

Hi Peter,

The SURT check was a lot quicker this time... CheckSUR.log is attached

The SFCFix.txt file is too long to paste the content here, so I also attached it.

Thanks.
