[SOLVED] [Win7SP1 x64] Can't install Security monthly Quality Rollup KB4034664 - 80073712

Hi there

I'm just seeking a bit of help on an error I'm getting with a XenDesktop master image. All Windows updates install correctly, except the Security Monthly Quality Rollups and the Preview of same. This has been ongoing since April Rollup, this year.

I've run SFCFix that gives the following;

I've run some other faulting finding but I've now done so much fault finding that I feel I'm a bit bass-ackward on it all so I think a fresh approach might be best. Just to be clear though, this only seems to concern the security rollups as all other updates install fine.

I appreciate anything that can be done before I re-install.

Export registry as hive

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
    button and in the search box, type regedit
  2. When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide

  4. Once selected, click File > Export....
  5. Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (*.*)
  6. Name this file SideBySide (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.
  7. Right click on the SideBySide file and choose Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Export Component Based Servicing

  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type regedit
  2. When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\
  4. Once selected, click File > Export....
  5. Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (*.*)
  6. Name this file ComponentBasedServicing (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.
  7. Right Click on the ComponentBasedServicing file on your Desktop and choose Send To -> Compressed (Zipped) Folder.

Once done please attach both zip files with your reply.

Log file attached. It offered me KB4034670 and KB4034664. Historically these Monthly Quality Rollups are the ones that have been failing while other updates have worked fine. Both failed on this attempt (I tried them separately).

It completed fine with the command you gave. However, when I tried the same command with the update that won't install for me, I get the message below.

CBS.log was too big to attach so I've put it on wetransfer - WeTransfer

Once complete, try installing the failed update using DISM again.
 
It failed on the DISM install. I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong with the DISM commands with the failing KB. Do the commands look ok?

Run the System Update Readiness Tool again and when it completes, attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
 
Let's try uninstalling kb4019263 instead.

DISM.exe /Online /Remove-Package /PackagePath:C:\temp\windows6.1-kb4019263-x64.cab

If this fails, zip and attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log with your reply.
