[SOLVED] [Win8.1 x64] icrav03.rat Corruption

Will it have the same effect as refreshing the computer or resetting the computer? If I can at least still keep my personal files then I'm happy to do that.

You would keep your personal files, yes.

1. Download the Media Creation Tool and save this to your desktop. Go ahead and run this as well. Note: Click the Download tool now button when you get to this link.
2. Accept the License Agreement
3. Download the ISO file to your desktop.
4. Double-click on the ISO and then run the setup to try and upgrade your machine.

We want to get the ISO so that you don't have to keep downloading which can take hours.

I have installed Windows 10. The boot time before the password screen still takes quite a while, but the loading speed after the password screen does returned to normal.

That's great news! Anything else I can assist you with?

Regarding the slow boot to the password screen, are there any peripheral devices attached to the computer? (Except the mouse, the keyboard...)

Yes, I'm connecting the computer to an external monitor through HDMI cable. Are you suggesting that's the cause? I have tried to boot computer without the HDMI connection and the boot time doesn't seem to improve.

There isn't. So it looks like my only choice here is to refresh my computer? (Or reset?)

The fast boot is enabled.
The SFC scan returns "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them." A second scan returns no integrity violation.

It doesn't seem to slow or speed out boot time. It takes about 1.5 minutes to get to the password screen either way.
