[SOLVED] Windows 10 and Windows 11 (beta) update error 0x80070002

Your last installation which may have caused the problems was in March 2021. This was KB5000850.

Please try to uninstall this update.

Remove Update Manually
1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, and press Enter
wusa /uninstall /KB:5000850

4. Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.

Hello daskeladden,

Unfortunately, I am unable to spot what is wrong from the CBS logs. Please run the following so that I can find what other setup error logs there may be on your system.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Attach this file into your next post for me to check please

I noticed a reference to a RAMDisk. Do you make use of RAM disks on this system?

If you can find the files mentioned in the results and zip them up for me it would be appreciated.

Sorry that there has been no response, I asked others on the team to take a look at this on 14 Sept. I will send another reminder to the team.

At this stage my approach would be to perform a clean installation of the latest W10 version. Obviously back up your data or complete system before doing this is if there are things you wish to retain. The fact that you were prepared to try an insider build of W11 tells me that there is nothing you are not prepared to lose on this system but at least having a system backup means you can go back to it if the clean install fails.

After years of research I finnaly found out what the problem was. Long time ago I used a software called StopUpdates10. Even though that software has a turn off the blocking function it still did not delete necessary things in the registry.
So what I had to do is to delete the following folder in registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\dismhost.exe

registry.jpg

Hope this can help others that have used some kind of blocking updates software :)
Here is a link to the tutorial I followed:
