[SOLVED] Windows 10 Build 1903 - Trying to Update to 22H2

Hi,

Have you tried other USB-ports, and is the USB-stick NTFS or FAT32 formatted?

Am I safe to hold the power button to turn off the computer?

edit - the USB is a 3.0 plugged into a 3.0 port and is formatted in exFAT

My computer is unable to boot properly to Windows. Would I have to try the other USB through my laptop?

Yes, you can use the laptop to format the other USB-stick to see if the PC will recognize it in the BIOS.

So far as I know that shouldn't be a problem, a ZIP-file is just a ZIP-file...

It is now able to recognize the new USB and see the BIOS image file. But when I try to proceed with the update, it gives error of "Invalid BIOS Image"

Yes, I am positive that I downloaded that version. I just clicked the link again and created a (1) file. In the USB, it contains both the zip folder and the BIOS image file.

Could it be that it requires step-wise installation of the versions? Like F22 -> F25 -> F31 -> and so on

BIOS versions are cumulative, so you don't have to install all the earlier releases to get it to the latest verion.

Since the Windows Update area is limited to response, I would suggest to start a new thread in the hardware section: Hardware
Maybe someone else have an idea why this happens and the image is not recognized as valid BIOS version.

Should this have any effect to my computer? My computer is not able to boot properly to Windows like it did despite not attempting anything with updating BIOS

So, in my situation, I would have to update BIOS and then it should allow me load into my previous install of Windows?

No, but maybe it will resolve the issue with your new SSD so you can re-install Windows with the latest ISO.

The reason why you can't upgrade the BIOS is not clear to me, so therefore I suggested to start a new thread in the hardware section for this issue to get advice from other helpers as well.

Oh I forgot to say, I am now able to update BIOS. It is supposedly done in step-wise like I mentioned before. I am currently on F40 version of BIOS

It was because the Q-Flash compatibility was not available yet so it has to be done this way due to my BIOS version being too old and not having the Q-Flash compatibility feature
