Please run the following script to see if it shows broken packages.

Start the
577bf0efb8088-FRST.png
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool again.
  • Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click on FRST.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  • Press the Fix button.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally.
  • When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

This looks good, so I would try to update again to see what happens.

Hmm, due to all the issues, and now you have replaced the bad memory modules it might be better to perform an in-place-upgrade. In particular, to avoid any other issues in the future with upcoming updates etc..

In-place upgrade
This will reinstall and update the operating system and fix any corruptions, without removing any file or program. But make always a backup of all your important data!
  • Go to this Microsoft page and under the title Create Windows 10 installation media press on Download tool now.
  • Save the tool on your Desktop and double click to run it.
  • On the License terms page, if you accept the license terms, select Accept.
  • On the What do you want to do page, select Upgrade this PC now, and then select Next.
  • Follow the instructions and select Keep personal files and apps, when you are asked to.
  • It might take a couple of hours, depending on your internet speed connection, to install Windows 10. Your PC will restart a few times. Make sure you don’t turn off your PC.
  • After downloading and installing, the tool will walk you through how to set up Windows 10 on your PC.

Thank you for your assistance to this point - I'll have to set aside some time to do this outside of working hours, which are about to begin. Before I opened this thread, I had attempted this as one of my troubleshooting steps, but it failed. Hopefully, with the repairs in place, it will succeed.

I'll update you once I'm able to run the in-place upgrade.

Hi,

Download and run SetupDiag from Microsoft
  • Download
    60e45c659164d-SetupDiag.png
    SetupDiag to your desktop.
  • Right-click on SetupDiag.exe and select Run as administrator.
  • When completed the following files are created: "Logs.zip, SetupDiag.exe.config and SetupDiagResults.log"
  • Attach SetupDiagResults.log and Logs.zip to your next reply.

When I run it, I see a cmd window briefly flash, but nothing else happens. If I run it manually from an elevated command prompt, it displays the usage text.

Hmm, please post the following logs if exist.

C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\Setuperr.log
C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\Setupact.log

Do also the following.

Provide the profile information of this system.
  • Click the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
Copy and paste the following commands one at a time into the command prompt and press enter after each.
    Code:
    reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" /s > "%userprofile%\desktop\ProfileList.txt"
    reg query "HKEY_USERS" >> "%userprofile%\desktop\ProfileList.txt"
  • These commands will collect the System and Application logs and create ProfileList.txt on your Desktop.
  • Attach this file in your next reply.

It seems these profiles are causing this issue. Does these profiles folders still exist on the systemdrive.

Please run aso the following command and post the result:
Code:
wmic useraccount get name,sid > "%userprofile%\desktop\ProfileList.txt"

What you can try is to create a new user account and migrate all the data to the new one, and then remove the current user account.

And is EaseUSDiskCopy6.0.0 still installed on this system?
