Thanks. Still consulting, will get back to you as soon as I can, but it's not likely to be too soon.

Your CBS Hive is showing entries that I thought we had removed, so we need to scan for them again.

Please reboot your computer ..... it is essential that you do this before doing the following ...
  • Click Search and type CMD
  • Right click the CMD App from the search results and select Run as Administrator
  • With the App open ...
    • Copy/Paste the following Command into it ...
    • reg load HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\COMPONENTS
      • This loads your COMPONENT hive.
    • You can now close the Command window.
  • Next ...
  • Right-click on FRST64.exe and choose Run as administrator
    • Copy and paste ... KB5025297;KB5026361 ... into the Search box.
    • Click the Search Registry button.
    • When the scan is complete ...
      • A log will open on your Desktop ... SearchReg.txt
    • Attach the file ... SearchReg.txt ... to your next reply.
  • You may close any remaining open windows now.

Rebooted
loaded COMPONENT hive
ran FRST64, searched reg for KB5025297;KB5026361

Fixlog attached.

Note: since there was a pending reboot for the (eventually failed) update, I rebooted and let that process complete before running this step. I assume that's correct but please let me know if not.

Thanks!
