Hi MetroGru

Please do the following.

Step #1 - FRST Fix

NOTICE:
This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

I appreciate your help and effort over the past 16 days you and softwaremaniac, but i'm sorry this is too much. i have a limited internet plan and very slow upload speed that peaks at 100kb/sec

what are my options? if the best is to manually install updates i would like to know how

Hi MetroGru

The windows updates won't go through automatically or manually as there is corruptions peventing this.

Your other option may be to do an in place upgrade which is a repair install of windows 10 without losing anything other than all installed windows updates.

This is entirely your call though and will continue to assist if you do not want to do this.

If you wish to proceed please do the following to complete an in place upgrade.
  1. Download the Media Creation Tool and save this to your desktop. Go ahead and run this as well. Note: Click the Download tool now button when you get to this link.
  2. Accept the License Agreement.
  3. Download the ISO file to your desktop.
  4. Double-click on the ISO and then run the setup to try and upgrade your machine.
Make sure you go through the Create installation for another PC option as we want to get the ISO so that you don't have to keep downloading which can take hours.

There is also a tutorial here which explains the process in more detail - follow step 6.
