[SOLVED] Windows 10 Update Failure: "We can't tell if your PC is ready to...'

Open CMD as Admin and enter the following:

diskpart
list disk
select disk # (instead of # put the number of your USB drive you will get from the previous step)
list partition
select partition # (a number should be listed, put it in instead of the #)
exit
reagentc /setreimage /path \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk1\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE (here ensure that you select the harddisk and the partition you have identified previously)
If you get a message that it was successful, please type in: reagentc /enable

Afterwards, attempt to create the recovery media again.

I will not be here for much longer, so a Happy New Year to you!

Happy New Year as well!

I have an update:

When I got home this morning I was greeted with a pleasant blue screen error at startup: ""The Boot Configuration Data file is missing." So I went ahead and researched solutions and was so frazzled, that I cracked my phone screen in the process. Happy New Year to me!

I followed those steps:
How to Fix a 'Boot Configuration Data File is Missing' Error in Windows 10
Thankfully I had the bootable installation media. Definitely going to keep that USB handy for the future!

After I solved that issue, I noticed that this solution wanted me to do the same thing you guys wanted me to do: rebuild my bcd! So since it was successful, I figured I would give the update a whirl and sure ****:

SUCCESS!

It was a New Year's miracle! With that update, my windows is now activated again and I was able to do my updates on Office too. I was even having issues with certain keys not working well, and now they seem to be back in regular order. All those year-long bug-a-boos are solved!

Thank you guys for your patience and I wish I found you a year ago. I will be giving you guys a donation. You guys do the lords work and have the patience of a saint. Happy New Year! Hopefully I don't need you guys again too soon!

No, if everything is working you don't need to enable it.

Delighted we could help you and thanks for sticking with the topic.

Before I close it off are there any further questions?
