Windows 2012 R2, Error 80073712

So close!! but no avail.
When it checked for updates, it found more than last time and it did not give me a failed error right away. After installing the updates, rebooting and checking the update history, the same updates failed but others were successful.
The other updates were related to MS Office and Monthly Security Rollup.

There is a registry corruption on the server. I have now restored the keys that were missing, but the link has not yet been made. Can you please get me a fresh copy of your COMPONENTS hive?

The server is actually one of several VMs I have stored locally on my SSD and it's the only one having this problem.

Thanks again for your time and help with this.

They are on my laptop, so no unexpected shutdowns. But I do Pause (Suspend) the VM when I need to reboot my laptop for whatever reason.

Step#1 - Capture Process Monitor Trace
1. Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
2. Run Windows Updates just like you have in the past.
3. Stop Process Monitor as soon as Windows Update fails. You can simply do this by clicking the magnifying glass on the toolbar as shown below.

4. Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
5. Zip up and attach the LogFile.PML file as well as your CBS.log

Thank you! This has helped enormously. You are missing a NET Framework related registry key (that's all I see for now). I'll try to find a replacement and post back.

I will be away for some time, but I have arranged for my colleague to take care of my threads while I am away, so he'll be with you when he can.

Thank you for your patience.
