[SOLVED] Windows 2022 21H2 - cumulative updates fail with error ox800f081f

have tried all the normal DISM and sfc commands but cannot fix this issue. Could you assist please before I pull the rest of my hair from my head.Thank you.

Do you think someone would be able to take a look at this. I appreciate its all free and you guys do great work and give all your time for free, this one is doing my nut in .. why do microsoft make it so hard. We have done some more updates to the server but the CU's still fail. Do I need to submit the files again?

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.

• Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
• Please copy this file to your desktop.
• Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
• Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
• If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Here's the first fix.

Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.

• Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
• Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
• Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

• SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
• Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
• Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Afterwards attempt to update. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.

wow.. thanks a lot all working now. I have a few other servers that have the same issue.... i feel bad taking up your time as it is taking up your time as you do this for free. Is there any way we can apply these fixes here to the other servers.

No, each issue may differ due to component versions etc! So I would start a new thread for the other server so we can provide the correct fixes!
