This update is failing to install. What I have tried

Mounted the ISO and did
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:D:\Sources\SxS /LimitAccess
sfc /scannow
Neither fine any issues.

Tried, didnt work.
DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\WuUpdate\YOUR_UPDATE_FILE.cab /LogPath:C:\temp\KB5049983_DISM.log

Found component fixer from here, tried that it shows errors but then the txt file outputs no data or anything wrong

Shutdown the system
shutdown /r /o /f /t 0

Tried
1739847371670.webp
Tried hard repair
esentutl /p D:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS

I forgot what that error said but similar unable to do anything.

Mounted the ISO and started an upgrade, kept my files, that fails

Hi @greyclear,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

You cannot use esentutl for registry HIVE files, only for databases like the catalog or the active directory DB when they have become corrupted. So please do the following and provide all the requested files in your next post.

Step 1. Download
61f7aba7309a1-ComponentsScanner_Icon.png
ComponentsScanner and save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click ComponentsScanner.exe and select "Run as administrator", click Yes on the UAC (User Account Control) prompt which appears.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Once complete, a report will be saved to your desktop called ComponentsScanner.txt.
  • Post the logfile ComponentsScanner.txt as attachment into your next reply.

Step 2. Upload a copy of the CBS folder
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.

  • Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply. If the file is too large to attach, upload the CBS.zip file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Step 3. Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

I'm not able to compress the entire logs file so I did just CBC, DISM and Windows Update. I was running out of options so I rolled the system state back to December 3rd, as far back as I could then did all the usual dism/sfc fixes and then all windows updates applied but now I am stuck on Feb update KB5051979 I will defer to you the expert and tell me what you see. Thank you
