This morning, when I booted up my laptop, it was configuring SP 1. I'm not sure how it finally succeeded. I installed the update readiness tool on 11/27 and went through the procedures that you instructed me to do. Whatever happened, it all seems well now and SP 1 is installed. Before the SP 1 update succeeded, I was also unable to turn Windows features on or off in the Control Panel, as it was just blank. Now, I can see it.
