[SOLVED] Windows 7 SP1 Corrupt Files blocking Windows Update

Re-ran and attached file. Looks better this time. Maybe I ran the txt file and not the zip file?

CheckSUR log attached. Still getting the not genuine windows error. Should I reactivate with Key on sticker?

Windows update did not have any recommended updates so I installed an optional update and that worked. What's next?

Strange - Could not activate windows as it is shown as genuine. The product id has OEM in the id which is different than the one on the label of the computer. Tried the Anytime Upgrade but that is not available anymore for Windows 7. Windows Update still works even for optional updates so maybe it is genuine? Your thoughts?

Genuine or not genuine does not have much to do with regards to updates working. I'm a Windows Update analyst, and from my point of view your issue has been resolved update wise. I'd suggest you try contacting Microsoft about the activation issue.

One thing I'd like to check before letting you go though, please do another SFC Scan and attach CBS.log

Okay = Zipped version of CBS.log attached as original version was too big. Let me know what you think

Well it shows that Windows is already activated. My guess is that when the hard drive was replaced, the hardware technician loaded an OEW version of Windows 7 Home Premium. Maybe that OEM version was expired., as it only complains that it is not genuine windows when it runs the genuine windows checker program which is not at consistent times. I will de-activate the OEM version and activate with the original windows Keys.

Thanks for all your help and windows update works now!

You are the best at fixing this corruption issue.
