[SOLVED] windows 7 sp1 (spanish) doesn't update

Hello Tripmatrix. We will run the Windows Repair again


[COLOR=9000]Run Windows Repairs
[/COLOR]Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
1. Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable again to your desktop (a lot of things changed since the last time we ran it)
2. Once the file is downloaded, right-click on the file on your desktop and choose Extract All...

3. Keep the defaults and click the Extract button.
4. A folder named tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio will be extracted to the desktop. Once the extraction is complete the folder will open.
5. Inside this folder, there is a folder named Tweaking.com - Windows Repair. Open this folder as well.

6. Double-click on Repair_Windows.exe to open. Note: Please make sure all of your programs are closed and anything you were working on is saved as we will be rebooting.
7. When the program opens, click the Reboot to Safe Mode button at the bottom of the screen. Answer Yes to allow.
8. Once rebooted into Safe Mode, open the program again. When the program opens, click the Repairs tab and click the Open Repairs button.
9. A backup of your registry will be made. After a few moments you will have many options from which you can choose.
10. Please keep all of the defaults selected.
11. Ensure the Restart/Shutdown System check box is selected and the Restart System radio button. Click the Start Repairs button in the lower right of the screen. This may take some time to run so be patient.

12. Once the fixes are complete you will be prompted to restart your machine. Answer Yes.


Now, do the repair install again and let me know if it succeeds or failed

Download MiniToolBox and move the executable file to your Desktop if you have deleted MiniToolBox from using it before, otherwise skip this step
Right-click on MiniToolBox.exe and select
Spcusrh.png
Run as Administrator
Check the following options:

  • List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors
Once this is done, click on Go and wait for the scan to complete
Once the scan is complete, a log will open.
Please copy/paste the content of the output log in your next reply

This fix is very specific for tripmatrix's computer. Trying this fix on your own computer might damage your computer. If you are after assistance, create a new thread, and you will be assisted shortly.

Download SFCFix (by niemiro) and move the executable on your Desktop. If you have kept SFCFix from previous fixes, use that instead.
Download the attached View attachment SFCFixScript.txt and move the archive to your Desktop
Note: Make sure that the file is named SFCFixScript.txt, do not rename it.
Save any work you have open, and close every programs
Drag the SFCFixScript.txt file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it

Once done, a file will appear on your Desktop, called SFCFix.txt

We will be running another SFC scan

SFC Scan
1. Click on :startorb: and type cmd. When Command Prompt appears, right-click on it, and click Run as Administrator
2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
Code: 
sfc /scannow
3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter.
Code: 
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Right-click on this file and choose Send To...Compressed (zipped folder). Please upload this zipped file CBS.zip to this thread
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel.
3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

The strangest thing happened. Before installing SURT, Windows suscessfully updated. All by itself it downloaded and installed a bunch of updates and now says its up to date. So it seems the problem is solved out of the blue. Isn't that odd? Should we leave it alone or should I install SURT anyways or take some other action?

It ins't. The COMPONENTS hive wasn't loading, and it is critical for Windows Update to work. The only problem? When we received it, the COMPONENTS hive was fine. So we changed the reg loading size to unlimited, and it loaded successfully

If all the updates are installing, and everything is working properly, then we don't need to run SURT.
