  • After that, go on your Desktop, right-click on Script.bat and select Run as Administrator;

SoftwareDistribution - Rename
Follow the instructions below to rename the folders in SoftwareDistribution.
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select

  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the commands below one at the time (press Enter to send it);
    • net stop wuauserv
    • ren %SystemRoot%\SoftwareDistribution\Download DL.bak
    • ren %SystemRoot%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore DS.bak
    • net start wuauserv
Once done, try to install the updates again and if it fails upload the two last files once more please.
 
Can you give me the KB numbers of the updates you have to install?
 
It's Windows 7 service pack 1 that Im trying to install, says it's 892.6 MB. I did have to increase the HDD size for Windows to 126 GB because of the error message I got the first time I tried to install it yesterday (not enough space to update) . I increased the size to accommodate and got the message 802400D again.
